Hi, I’m Tobi.

I’m a purpose-driven Real Estate Agent based in Whatcom County, Washington.

As an entrepreneur and designer with 25 years of business experience, I facilitate seamless Real Estate transactions centered around your values and needs.

In business and in life, I’ve always been inspired by architectural spaces and the natural world around us.

During the process of selling my treasured home, which I’d dreamed up and co-created with my husband (he’s the builder in the family), I felt something missing in the Real Estate experience: a heartfelt relationship with our Agents and thoughtful, informed guidance. With expert negotiation and business relationship skills already under my belt, I became a Realtor to make a positive and meaningful impact on my client’s personal lives and on the planet.

“Our experience with Tobi has been nothing short of extraordinary. ”

My entrepreneurial journey.

In the early 2000s, I designed and developed my first brick-and-mortar business in collaboration with my husband. We poured our hearts into creating Akoia Day Spa, an all-organic spa in Healdsburg, California, while I was running my own jewelry design company.

As the spa flourished and outgrew its original location, I fell in love with the architectural bones of a vacant second-floor space on the coveted Healdsburg Plaza. . . which was so completely undeveloped that it didn’t even have a floor. Inspired by the building’s arched windows and vast potential, we created a sun-lit new home for the spa.

Next came our organic grocery market, which we transformed from an abandoned NAPA Auto Parts store. We repurposed what we could to breathe new life into a previously neglected space.

Why purpose-driven Real Estate?

My passion for creating inspired spaces became personal when we bought 40 acres of raw land in Cloverdale, California, and built our dream home: a fire-resistant, environmentally responsive and responsible house that was our sanctuary—until we realized the crisis-level challenges of climate change in “fire country” were taking a toll on our lives.

While my vast experience in business ownership and development is the practical foundation of Tobi Smukler Homes, environmental stewardship is the core philosophy of my business. I consider it my responsibility to put the planet first in everything I do—we no longer have the option to live in any other way.
